When we first heard from Chester County’s Matt Magarahan it was with 2014’s trio of recordings on Songs To Forget, Vol. 1. Magarahan showed his knack for eclectic songwriting across the EP, moving from quietly acoustic to lushly electronic. He keeps that diversity alive on his two latest singles as well, “Pen and Paper” and “We Might Not Always Feel In Love.”

The former is a late-night, stripped down musing with Magarahan’s pitch-shifted vocals floating over staccato synths and subtle guitar. On “Feel In Love,” he goes for more of an Americana rock inspired vibe. His voice echos and stretches into Jim James territory as a loping arrangement leads into a great guitar solo.

Matt plays Johnny Brenda’s on October 27th with Cuddle Magic and Geology; tickets for the 21+ show can be found here. Check out the two tracks below.
