We’re counting down seven days till regional punk scene faves Balance and Composure unleash their latest work, Light We Made, upon the world. It’s a dark and daring album, breaking down the walls of guitars that made The Things We Think We’re Missing and Separation so heavy and incorporating other tones and textures that are just as gripping.

In short: it’s their best album, by far. And even though the lead-off singles generated a bit of comment-section backlash from tough-guy listeners who just want to rage, with no risk comes no reward, and this record is a bold collection poised to do big things. And, as it turns out, local fans will get an early chance to celebrate.

The band just announced a last-minute, intimate record release day show on Friday, October 7th at Boot and Saddle in South Philadelphia. Admission to the 21+ show will be $10 — or, if you pay $15, you’ll get a copy of the Light We Made LP. Opening the show is Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, the new project of Adam Mcllwee, formerly of Tigers Jaw. Doors are at 7:30, show is at 8, and tickets are available here.

Below, listen to music from Light We Made and check out the show poster.
