Keeping with an apparent trend in music videos, New Jersey’s Pine Barons just released a video consisting mostly of lead vocalist Keith Abrams riding a bike through the woods. Nevertheless, the five man band made the fad their own with bizarre details, like Abrams being bombarded with random multicolored substances while riding the bike, brief flashes of what could be resin art or the contents of a petri dish (your call), and a concluding scene that lead to an almost cult like interaction with the remaining band members.

The video, which was directed by New Jersey-based photographer and videographer Frank Apollonio, is for their new single “Alliterate Breed” from their forthcoming debut album which is set to be released in the spring. The video is captivating, and the repeated change in scenery creates a fun psychedelic vibe. The song itself is reminiscent of Two Door Cinema Club, as far as the instrumentals and vocals go, but taken at a much slower pace.

The band is not currently signed, but we don’t doubt the potential for this to change very soon. Their snappy music and eccentric antics displayed in the video are refreshing when we’re so often flooded with copious amounts dark images and darker subject matter. Don’t want to wait until the spring to get a better look at Pine Barons? Well, lucky for Philly (and you), the boys will be headlining a show at Ortlieb’s on October 4th as a part of Project Pabst City Wide Festival. Keep an eye on the XPN Concert Calendar and their Facebook page for updates on the band and any future shows. Check out the video below.
