1964 – The Beatles record “Eight Days A Week.” They spend the evening at The Ad Lib Club in London, partying with The Ronettes and Mick Jagger.

1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience record a session for BBC radio’s Top Gear. Stevie Wonder, who is also appearing on the show, jams with Hendrix.

1969 – For the first time in Beatles history, a George Harrison song gets an A side on the 45 “Something”/”Come Together.”

1972 – During sessions at RCA Studios in New York City, David Bowie records “The Jean Genie,” which becomes the lead single from his 1973 album Aladdin Sane. The line “He’s so simple minded, he can’t drive his module” later gives the band Simple Minds their name.

1978 – Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad (Anni-Frid Lyngstad) of ABBA are married.
