Joseph is the band you can’t forget. Whether you saw them first on Jimmy Fallon or during our own NonCOMM this past spring, it’s likely that the haunting harmonies created by the Closner sisters are stuck in your mind for good. And they’re just getting started. With this year’s sophomore release I’m Alone, No You’re Not out on ATO Records, the Oregonians are taking hold of hearts and minds across the country — and with good reason. Catchy folk licks and haunting harmonies aren’t the only thing that Joseph brings to the table. With an ear for striking songwriting, the band doesn’t back down.

In the studio, Joseph leverages all the disparate components to create a sound much larger than the sum of their parts. But when we met up with them while they were in the house for NonCOMM, we had an idea for something different. In the empty, darkened World Cafe studio, Joseph unplugged and let their impassioned harmonies take free reign of the space. Seeing barnstormer “White Flag” and tempest-in-a-bottle “Hundred Ways” performed up close and personal was thrilling, and we’re so pleased to be able to share it with you. This is The Key Presents: Joseph

Joseph performs live at World Cafe Live downstairs on Wednesday, October 19th. Tickets to the all-ages show are still available, more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
