Philly-based Indie rock outfit The Burgeoning have a new EP coming out later this month, but you can listen to its title track now. It’s called “Loud Dreams”, and it fittingly sees the band exploring bigger, noisier territory with a distinct, dream pop bent.

“Loud Dreams” begins with massive, reverb-y drenched chords before launching into an intricate, skittering groove courtesy of drummer Brandon Bradley. There’s an off-kilter, James Blake-esque syncopation to the way the keyboards and drums interact, a quality that helps temper its pristine, pop edge. Over plinky, winding guitar figures, vocalist Logan Thierjung urges someone he’s just met to take a chance on him. He doesn’t quite know why, but he’s seen them before and the moment feels right, and it’s that dreamlike quality that’s at the core of the song.

Loud Dreams EP is out Friday, October 28th. To celebrate, they’ll headline Bourban & Branch the day before with support from Moon Jellies, Vikkie XO, and Kris Gears. Find tickets and more information for the 21+ event here.
