For the second year in a row, the Sun Ra Arkestra will celebrate Halloween at Johnny Brenda’s tonight. Under the leadership of multi-instrumentalist Marshall Allen, the spirit of enigmatic founder Sun Ra lives on through the Arkestra’s galactic funk and soul performance. Tickets and information for the 21+ show can be found here; watch the band’s Tiny Desk Concert below.

If you caught Oxford rockers Foals at their Philly show last December, you know what a wild ride it can be. If you missed that date, try to catch them tonight at the Electric Factory. The band is touring in support of 2015’s critically acclaimed What Went Down LP, and while they may not repeat the antics of last year, it’s Halloween so anything can happen. Watch “Mountain At My Gates” below and pick up tickets for the all-ages show here.

Down in Wilmington, XPN welcomes Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls to World Cafe Live at The Queen. The UK act released its sixth studio record, Positive Songs for Negative People, last year, showcasing the jangly folk-punk that has earned them fans around the world. Tickets and information for the all-ages show can be found here; watch “The Next Storm” below.
