Philly musician Jon Coyle is stepping up in support of Planned Parenthood with a single called “Rare Air.” The Son Step frontman joins Khari Mateen, Foxing, and other bands from around the country in a showing of solidarity with the organization following this week’s election results.

Coyle wrote the song back in 2012 but didn’t complete it until this year. With its fuzzy exterior and warm keyboard layers it’s a bit of a sonic departure from the clear-toned tropi-pop of his main gig, but the reflective message is quintessentially Coyle. “It’s an ode to introspection, breathing, and letting yourself be influenced by your surroundings,” he tells us over email.

Listen to “Rare Air” below and download it via Bandcamp. Again, all proceeds made from the song in November will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
