Philly noise rockers The Spirit Of The Beehive have just signed to North Carolina’s Tiny Engines, joining fellow Philly acts like Mannequin Pussy and Cayetana. Just last week, the indie label announced that, for a limited time, they would be donating  all digital proceeds to Planned Parenthood and Southern Poverty Law Center, and now, they’re gearing up for the release of TSOTB’s sophomore LP. The band touched on the signing in a recent Facebook post, saying:

“although our new record has been done for quite some time we went through many hurdles getting it out. i don’t want to elaborate on that mess – instead, just want to give thanks to Tiny Engines for helping us through it and i hope we can be good friends! excited to show you all the new songs over the next few months.”

We’re excited too, but we won’t have to wait much longer, as The Spirit of The Beehive will play Mannequin Pussy’s record release at Everybody Hits on December 4th. Afterwards, they’ll go on tour with their new labelmates for a short string of East Coast dates. For tickets and more information on the Philly Date, head over to XPN’s Concert Calendar.
