Dreamy psych rockers Myrrias are ready to drop their debut LP Spectra later this week, sharing lead single “PEAK” on Monday and announcing a release show at Johnny Brenda’s for December 7th. Recorded with Jeff Zeigler, the album is the first entry on the producer’s new label Soft Dystopia.

Switching on with a magnetic, electric chord and crisp drums, “PEAK” unveils its billowy vocals and edgy energy like a beautiful dream that might turn into a haunting nightmare. It’s entrancing, but there’s a hint of darkness that creeps in under the surface.

Spectra isn’t the first recorded material we’ve heard from the local four-piece, though. The band, whose members’ histories include time with Arc in Round, Downtown Club, Lantern, and, with the addition of live drummer Steven Urgo, War on Drugs, burst on the scene in 2014 with Endless Winter Sessions. We can expect to hear the three songs featured on that EP again on Spectra, along with four new tracks.

Tickets and information for the 21+ show can be found here. Joining Myrrias at the Fishtown release show will be Long Spells, a DJ set from Suburban Living, and Zeigler’s own project Valley Exit, which is also releasing a debit record. Stream “PEAK” below.
