Square Peg Round Hole meditate on the release of their new EP with hypnotic new single “So Far, Not Close”

This Thursday, experimental rock trio Square Peg Round Hole will release a new, ambient EP entitled Five Years. It’s a bold departure for a band whose sound has always depended so heavily on its lush rhythm section, and you can hear that departure clear as day on its meditative closer, “So Far, Not Close”. It’s a slow-burner of a track that begins with pulsing, ambient samples and organ, gradually blooming to include a live horn section. Stream it below.

The experimentation doesn’t stop there, though.
