Recently, Lame-O Record’s Dominic announced his debut album Goodnight, Doggies, re-introducing the world to his lively indie rock stylings. To further this narrative, Dominic released a video for the fuzzed-out single “Emotional Businessman”.

I think this as meta as a song can go, as the video finds Lame-O founder Eric Osman fighting with Dominic on a snow-covered Philly city block. Lyrically, Dominic brings up points of the disposable nature of musicians and their constant struggle to show the “industry” who they really are through a hip-twisting power-popping hundred seconds. Although it has become a bit cliche for creatives to ask themselves if their art properly represents themselves, it’s a necessary inquiry amongst anyone struggling for identity in their art or in life. In under two minutes, however, Dominic manages to take these worldly jabs at art’s imperfect ties to business, all with a bit of smugness from celebrating a well-deserved spot on Lame-O’s boasting roster.

Watch the video below, and pre-order Dominic’s new record Goodnight, Doggieshere, out February 3rd. To celebrate the release, Dominic has a gig at Johnny Brenda’s with friends Norwegian Arms for a duel record release party on the same date (tickets/more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar)
