Guided by Voices announce massive 2xLP, release throwback tune “HikingSkin”

Indie rock superstars Guided by Voices announced a pretty special new record. August by Cake will be out April 7th, and marks lead singer Robert Pollard’s 100th album (done in only 31 years!!!).

To celebrate the announcement, GBV released their newest song “HikingSkin,” a speedy in-your-face indie rock song that really doesn’t sound like new GBV at all. Pollard’s vocals sound almost heavenly in front of the band’s newer lineup, taking the under two minutes to prove that he’s sticking around for a little bit longer. Here’s to 100 more, Rob, and we’ll see #200 in 2048.
