Los Angeles punk legend Alice Bag leads a reading and conversation at Penn’s Kelly Writers House for the second installment of Shifting the Gaze. The recurring event was formed last year as a venue for continued discussion surrounding women in the music industry. After leading the Bags through the early waves of punk and writing a series of books about her experiences, Bag released her debut solo effort last year via Don Giovanni Records. Listen to her just-released single “Reign of Fear” below and more information about the event here.

Local rapper GrandeMarshall just dropped his latest Risk/Reward effort via Fool’s Gold this week, featuring the cinematic, crescendoing “Stress” single below. He celebrates the EP’s release at MilkBoy tonight joined by We Want Drogas, Pauly Sure and Izzle Mane. Tickets and information for the 21+ show can be found here.

Singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson brings his deep discography to the Keswick Theater tonight. Known for writing pop culture icons like “Me and Bobby McGee,” the Texas native has been steadily releasing his own material since the 70s. Last year’s The Cedar Creek Sessions is his latest offering, a collection of old and new songs that was just nominated for a Best Americana Album Grammy. Listen to a duet with Sheryl Crow from the record below and pick up tickets here.
