Philly psych-folk four-piece Outside Eyes transports listeners to a retro folk beach party in their new Bandcamp-released EP, Cemetery Bells. Formed in 2012, members Joshua Lennon, Rachel Crowley, Zach Eggleston, and Todd Erk (of Hoots & Hellmouth, Birdie Busch & the Greatest Night and more) have been playing the Philly circuit since 2012, and the new EP is their first official release.

Slow grooves such as the opening title track and “Thinking of You” are carried by vocalist Zach Eggleston’s easy melodic crooning, conjuring images of a 1950’s school prom slow dance, while “Kill Me Don’t Kill Me” and “Dance Party from Hell” even out the release with quirky and upbeat tunes.

While the band does not currently have any set shows scheduled, I advise streaming the EP on repeat to hold you over until they do — I know that’s what I’ll be doing.
