Listen to The Soft Spots’ newest electronic dream Going Soft

Local dreamy synth-poppers The Soft Spots released the two-track single Going Soft earlier this month. The pair of tracks explore the vastness of electronic music, with an end result of drugged-out ambiance that Beach House should tip their hats to.

Both tracks find their own niche as “Hiding From The Sun” mixes Weeknd-esque vocals with a grooving bass guitar to recreate what I assume isn’t far removed from Abel’s basement tapes. The title-track, funny enough, dives in a little harder than its predecessor as a spacey hum is met by an extremely menacing drum machine, only to climax in a whirlwind of synthetic loveliness.

Overall, the two tracks find the band in a “chillwave” headspace, a DIY method of electronic you can never go wrong with. So, STRFKR, throw these guys onto your next tour, please.
