Brooklyn funk band Antibalas are working some new songs on the road this month, stopping at Ardmore Music Hall tonight with Fresh Cut Orchestra. The afrobeat musicians have plans to release a new record this spring that would follow-up 2012’s self-titled LP. Back in November they paid tribute to David Bowie with a cover of “Let’s Dance” – watch a live performance of that below and pick up tickets for tonight’s 21+ show here.

Local indie rockers Mercury Girls take a break from studio life for a show at Underground Arts tonight. We’ve been loving the nostalgic fuzz pop sounds coming out of Kevin Attics & co’s camp since their first live takes and demos, sounds that were refined and polished on last year’s Slumberland Records 7″ release. It’s about time we got some full-length listening material from them though, and that’s what’s on tap for later this year. In the meantime, check them out with Square Peg Round Hole, June Divided, and Harmony Woods tonight. Tickets and information can be found here.

Local funk/hip hop outfit Black Landlord are playing Milkboy tonight. The Maxx-led collective is one of those instant party acts, full of energy and beats that make it impossible to stand still while experiencing. Tonight’s show is in support of one of their members – as the group posted on Facebook,”Tango” Alan Abel is in the hospital with some serious injuries, and all proceeds will go towards getting him back on his feet. Watch Black Landlord perform “Addicted to Distraction” below and pick up tickets for the 21+ show here.
