This week’s Key Studio Session featured Mars Parker, a local artist who blends soulful jazz textures with the realism of hip hop. Tonight he brings his recent Mars Museum 3 release to Underground Arts, opening for Chill Moody and Voss. Check out a Key Session performance of “Selfworth” below and pick up tickets for the 21+ show here.

Local rapper PnB Rock continues to support his latest Goin Thru the Motions EP with a show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster tonight. Born in Germantown, Rock has a catchy, trap style that is given a hint of endearing humor in a video for Motions track “Notice Me.” Watch that below and pick up tickets for the all-ages show here.

Maceo Parker celebrates 50 years of funk at Ardmore Music Hall tonight. And really, there’s no better person to lead that celebration than Parker – a legendary sax player who worked with James Brown and George Clinton in the genre’s early heyday. Tonight Parker will be joined by his own band for a show that packs the room every time it swings through town. Tickets and information can be found here; watch a classic video of Parker performing “Let’s Get It On” below.
