1965 – The Beach Boys record “Help Me Rhonda.”

1970 – The Jackson 5 release “ABC.”

1975 – Led Zeppelin releases Physical Graffiti. An expanded reissue of the album is released exactly 40 years later on this date in 2015.

1976 – The Eagles’ Greatest Hits becomes the first album in the US to sell 10,000,000 copies and be certified platinum by the RIAA.

1992 – Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love are married in Hawaii and are already expecting Frances Bean.

1998 – Elton John is knighted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.

2004 – After EMI refuses to let Danger Mouse release his Grey Album, a mash-up of Jay-Z’s Black Album with samples from The Beatles’ White Album, the DJ makes it available as a free download on his website for one day only.
