1961 – The Supremes release their first single, “I Want A Guy.”

1966 – The Beach Boys start recording “God Only Knows.”

1970 – Having recently changed their name from Earth to Black Sabbath; Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward make their live debut at The Roundhouse in London.

1974 – Bad Company play their first concert.

1975 – Elvis Presley begins his final recording session, at RCA’s Hollywood Studios.

1978 – The Eagles record “I Can’t Tell You Why.”

1986 – Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith go to Magic Ventures Studios in New York, where they rerecord parts of their song “Walk This Way” so Run-D.M.C. can transform it into a Hip-Hop jam. Neither act is happy about this collaboration, but Rick Rubin makes it happen.

1987 – U2 release their 5th album The Joshua Tree. It would become their first number one album, produce two number one hits, and win the band their first two Grammy awards.

1993 – Lenny Kravitz releases Are You Gonna Go My Way.
