New York progressive collective Sunwatchers head to PhilaMOCA for the night with opening sets by Skull Practitioners and Writhing Squares. These free jazz and krautrock inspired musicians define their own genre through jams of epic proportions, making anyone squeezed into Philly’s favorite arthouse freaking lucky. The show is all ages, and more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar. Also, check out the band’s Studio Sessions when they stopped by last May.

Danish singer/songwriter Agnes Obel takes over Union Transfer with Ethan Gruska opening. Hitting gold in 2013 with her critically acclaimed Aventine, Obel continues to deconstruct pop to create a head-tripping final product of natural beauty. The gig is also all ages, and as always, head over to the XPN Concert Calendar to check out more information.

XPN welcomes Jesse Hale Moore to Bourbon and Branch for the second week of his March residency — an evening with Scott Churchman and Lizdelise. His talent for emotive R&B are fantastic, combining his soothing vocals with delicate piano and band arrangements for some fantastic ballads. The show is 21+, and more information/tickets can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
