Crossroads Music continues its immersive programming with a visit from Tinta Roja on Saturday, March 18th, a Buenos Aires-born collaborative duo of classically trained musicians that shares the roots and future of tango music.

Argentina native Alejo de los Reyes and Philadelphia-based musician Shinjoo Cho met in the South American capital before bridging their musical backgrounds to create the classic guitar-bandoneon pairing of the traditional dance music. This endeavor followed Cho’s earlier foray into tango with the Philly-based Oscuro Quintet, which she co-founded in 2006, while Reyes has been performing tango music internationally with the Fulanos de Tal trio for the last several years.

Rejos will also lead a pair of tango guitar workshops at the Mass Building on March 16th and 21st; more information for those events can be found here. Tickets and information for the intimate concert on March 18th at 48th and Baltimore can be found here. Tinta Roja will be joined by local duo Cast Shadows.
