Poor Devils are just branching out into the local scene, announcing their first EP Idaho due to be released on April 7th. To tease the debut, the band is streaming “I’m A Tired Man (But I Won’t Cry About It)”.

“I’m A Tired Man…” captures the hallway mixing of go-to surf rock with a blasting tune that touches the ends of both blues and garage rock. A pinch of fuzz surrounds singer Ryan Beach’s crooning vocals as flamboyant guitar work makes its way around the powerful back session, packing Nashville, SoCal, and local basements into a killer 4 minutes. It’s a danceable track that calls Arctic Monkey’s classic Whatever People Say I Am… while still retaining a southern swagger, exemplifying the melting pot that is rock and roll.

Listen to the track below, and if you like what you hear, check out the band’s EP release show at JR’s Bar on April 7th (more information/tickets can be found here and at the XPN Concert Calendar).
