John K. Samson & The Winter Wheat make a stop at World Cafe Live Downstairs for a gig with Worriers. His indie singer/songwriter chops house a little quirk, a little unorthodox folk, and bookish lyrics, setting the night up to be a night of discovery for anyone looking for something a little different. The show is all ages, and more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.

The Icebox Project Space at Crane Arts houses a unique show featuring the contemporary live art sound project Nakatani Gong Orchestra. At each stop of this project, local musicians are recruited to perform under the guidance of percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani (who’s performing solo as well), so we’ll see if Philly can deliver (which of course they will). The show is all ages, and more information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

Three-piece youngins Bailen take over the World Cafe Live Upstairs stage for a gig with Jackson Pines and Owl & Wolf. Their folk tunes are accentuated by the three members’ harmonic perfection, driving powerful tunes with stripped back instrumentation. The gig is all ages, and more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.

Also Playing:

Tony Molina at Everybody Hits (9 p.m., $10-12, all ages)
