Aughties hip-hop supergroup, Jurassic 5, are bringing their old-school vibes to the TLA tonight. Comprised of DJs Numark and Cut Chemist, and MC’s Chali 2na, Zaakir, Akil and Mark 7even, the group was formed at LA’s The Good Life cafe, and was incredibly influential in the West Coast underground scene. Tickets for the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to their 2002 jam, “What’s Golden,” below.

Making up the namesake of bluesy-rock outfit, Tedeschi Trucks Band, are spouses Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Their latest album, Let Me Get By, features the best of Tedechi’s raspy soulfulness and Truck’s twangy guitar jams. Don’t miss the for-sure grooving awaiting tonight at Merriam Theater. Find info on tickets here, and watch their NPR Tiny Desk Concert below.

Philly trumpeter Matt Cappy will be brass-ing it up at the 2300 Arena tonight for his record release party of his upcoming debut album, Church and State. The eclectic trumpeter will then soon be gearing up to join other Philly native, Jill Scott, as support for her upcoming tour. Find info on tonight’s show here, and listen to the Chill Moody-featured “Church and State” below.
