Icelandic rock royalty Sigur Ros are gracing us with their presence at the Mann Center tonight. Get swept away in their myriad of hits — whether in Icelandic or the band-created musical language of Hopelandic (like c’mon, how cool is that)– for an atmospheric, open-air performance of dynamic, otherworldly soundscapes. Find more info on tickets at the XPN Concert Calendar, and listen to “Festival,” a.k.a. one of the most beautiful songs to ever exist, below.
Rock icon Elvis Costello is returning to Philly tonight by ways of the also iconic Tower Theater. The legendary singer-songwriter last released the Grammy-nominated spoken-word memoir titled Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink. I’m fairly certain it’s content will be absent from the setlist, but hey, Elvis Costello reading his memoir to you would be kind of rad also. Find more info on tickets to the show at the XPN Concert Calendar, and listen to the throwback track, “Pump It Up” below.
Local fave Harmony Woods will be playing at Space 1026 tonight, alongside a bill also featuring Macseal and Tombo Crush. Quickly becoming a Philly scene gem, Sophia Verbilla’s project knocked the socks off The Key with the debut album of Nothing Special. Find more info on the show on the event’s Facebook page. Listen to Harmony Woods’ acoustic rendition of the Three Man Cannon track, “Bleed,” below.
