The official release of Katie Ellen‘s debut LP Cowgirl Blues is tomorrow, but you can hear it live a night early at the band’s record release show tonight at PhilaMOCA. The new project of Anika Pyle, former frontwoman of punk outfit Chumped, Katie Ellen is her platform for anthemic, cathartic, feminist “sparkle pop twang punk fuzz core” jams. Listen to leading single “Sad Girls Club” below and check out the XPN Concert Calendar for tickets and more information.

Philly rapper Chill Moody brings his endlessly cool vibes and smooth delivery of sharp lyrics to Boot and Saddle tonight along with Kuf Knotz and GrandeMarshall. This stacked lineup is all to benefit Beyond the Bars, a Philadelphia nonprofit organization with a mission to bring music into the lives of incarcerated and underserved youth by providing instruments and instructions. Tickets for the 21+ show are still available. Click here for more information.
With a sound hearkening back to classic performers like the Everly Brothers and Ricky Nelson, folk duo The Cactus Blossoms are a unique sound to find in this decade. Fresh off a recent appearance at the Roadhouse on Twin Peaks Season 3, the two brothers from Minneapolis will be performing with A.M. Mills at Johnny Brenda’s tonight. Check out The Cactus Blossoms’ performance at last year’s NonCOMM here and watch their new music video for “Mississippi” below. Tickets are still available but running low for the 21+ show – click here for more information.
