Waxahatchee | from “Recite Remorse” music video

Waxahatchee released their fourth full length album Out in the Storm on July 14th (when the band also celebrated the release with a Free at Noon show and opened her tour with a hometown show at Union Transfer), and in the short time since, frontwoman Katie Crutchfield has received endless deserved praise and critical acclaim both of the record and her live interpretations of the powerful tracks.

Today she released the second music video to accompany Out in the Storm for the excellent “Recite Remorse,” the track that perhaps most singularly embodies the album’s candid, introspective lyrics about break-up catharsis and the sonic themes of anthemic build-ups and burning guitar.

The video, directed by installation artist Ricardo Rivera of Philly’s Klip Collective, features Katie in a dreamy, underwater-like setting that mirrors the ethereal sound of the song and neatly recalls an out-of-body, out-of-mind experience that she sings about, lost in the hazy limbo of an unhealthy relationship.

Waxahatchee also announced more tour dates today, a 15-show addition to an already extensive US and Europe tour. Watch the video for “Recite Remorse” and check out the new tour dates below.
