This summer, Philadelphia DJ / producer / multimedia artist King Britt revisited his experimental space music project Fhloston Paradigm with the new record AFTER…

King released the album last month, and appeared on WXPN to discuss the project’s creative genesis in sci-fi soundtracks and collaborations with a roster of vocalists from Kate Faust to Jacqueline Constance and Pia Ercole. Tomorrow night, he celebrates the release in true showcase fashion at Johnny Brenda’s, recreating the album with many of the featured vocalists joining him onstage.

But first — new music.

As a companion to AFTER…, and a bit of a throwback to maxi-singles of days gone by, King has released a two-part single for the album’s song “…MATH.” Part one opens with a driving remix of the song by LA producer heare (El Larson), and sets it alongside the original, as well as a non-album track called “…YOU,” six minutes of meditative industrial sounds.

Part two of the “…MATH” single opens with a version of the track by Boston’s John Debo, and also features remixes by King’s Philly peers OddKidOut and Pow Pow (aka Chris Powell of Man Man).

Fhloston Paradigm performs at Johnny Brenda’s on Tuesday, July 25th starting at 7 p.m. Featured vocalists include Ryat, Pia Ercole, Moor Mother, Jacqueline Constance, Tim Motzer and Alexa Barchini, and the show also boasts a sci fi DJ Set by Ryan Todd. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. You’ll also be able to hear King on WXPN’s Star’s End this Saturday night, July 29th.
