Though basement indie pop youngins’ Family Volleyball have been steadily playing shows around the scene since we first met them at Beta Hi Fi, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard some new tracks. That ends right this very second (or before this very second if you’re super hip and informed) because the four-piece has just released a new single titled “Socialize.”

I love me some floaty, gauzy lo-fi — it’s one of my favorite things. And this track is all of those things, so I’m pretty dang into it. With the first half of “Socilaize” breezing along in peaceful flutter, it suddenly jolts and jives into a hooky, catchy jam that sends the tune out on the warped sounds of an alien space craft.

Check it out below, and keep tabs on the band via Facebook for news of upcoming gigs — coming soon to a basement near you.
