It’s record release day for Jersey’s Ruby The Hatchet. The psych-rock outfit will be celebrating their latest LP Planetary Space Child with a headlining spot at Johnny Brenda’s, supported by Heavy Temple and Meddlesome Meddlesome Meddlesome Bells. The release is just what you’d expect from a name like that: expansive, psychedelic, and untamed. Stream Planetary Space Child below and snag your tickets for the 21+ show here.
Music for a cause: head over to Northern Liberties today for BrainFest as they join forces with the Sundrop Music and Arts Festival for the first time to raise awareness for the American Brain Tumor Association. Held at the Ukie Club, the festival will feature 12 hours of music across three stages (including many of our local favorites), craft food trucks, games, and much more. Click here for more information and check out the full lineup below.
Head over to Lancaster to see a Rhett Miller headlining gig at Tellus 360. Miller is the frontman of the alt-country foursome Old 97’s, which released their eleventh studio album Graveyard Whistling earlier this year. Miller has built a successful career as a solo artist, and his last solo effort was 2015’s The Traveler, which you can stream below. For more information on the 21+ show, check out the XPN Concert Calendar.
