A double bill of singer-songwriters Juliana Hatfield and Wesley Stace comes to the Ardmore Music Hall on Thursday, October 12th.
Earlier in the year, England-born, Philly-based singer-songwriter Stace released his second album under his own name: Wesley Stace’s John Wesley Harding. The tracks were picked from the backlog of unused songs accumulated over the years, which must have numbered in the hundreds considering John Wesley Harding has released 17 studio albums spanning decades. Acting as Stace’s backing band is alt-country outfit The Jayhawks.
Joining the bill is the versatile singer-guitarist and songwriter Hatfield, who has likewise released a new album Pussycat earlier in the year. After revisiting her early 90s project The Juliana Hatfield Three with Whatever, My Love back in 2015, the intensity of the 2016 election cycle inspired a hard-hitting collection of new solo songs, which are collected in this year’s release.
