Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ani DiFranco makes a stop at the Keswick Theatre tonight following the release of her recent 20th studio album, Binary. After spending much of 2016 encouraging audiences to vote on her “Vote Dammit!” tour, DiFranco continues her political message with Binary — “As an artist, I like to be out in the world, and what initially compelled me was to try to push society to a better place,” DiFranco says of the album. Spoken word artist and poet Andrea Gibson will also perform. Watch DiFranco’s video for “Binary” below, and find tickets and more information on tonight’s show on the XPN Concert Calendar.

Atlanta-based Manchester Orchestra will bring the sounds of their new album A Black Mile To The Surface to Fishtown tonight for a performance at The Fillmore. The lively indie rockers have been making music for a decade now, their sound evolving with each album, and the band’s wide range of sweeping and emotional tunes is sure to draw old and new fans alike. Arrive early to catch Tigers Jaw and Foxing — both supporting acts are worthy of a listen. Watch “The Gold” performed live for World Cafe below, and read a recap of Manchester Orchestra’s recent Free at Noon here. Visit the XPN Concert Calendar for tickets and more information on tonight’s show.

New York-via-Minnesota jazz trio The Bad Plus take the stage for a headlining spot at Ardmore Music Hall tonight. Bassist Reid Anderson, pianist Ethan Iverson and drummer David King have been playing together since the year 2000, focusing on creating interesting and innovative new compositions. Their most recent release It’s Hard features deconstructions and reinterpretations of pop, rock and R&B songs. Square Peg Round Hole will also perform; find tickets and more information over at the XPN Concert Calendar.
