Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit — Klara and Johanna Söderberg — recently released a new single “It’s a Shame.”
About the song, produced by Tucker Martine, the sisters said in a press release:
We went to Los Angeles last spring and spent five weeks there writing. It was a tough time for the both of us. We were in this beautiful sunny place, but mostly felt sad and lonely. “It’s a Shame” is a song about the emptiness and desperation you feel after a relationship has come to an end. How you will go to great lengths just to numb the pain and feel less lonely.
“It’s A Shame” follows the band’s acclaimed Stay Gold, released in 2014. Earlier this spring, the duo also released a stand-alone single on International Women’s Day, “You Are The Problem Here.” Hailing from a southern suburb of Stockholm, Klara and Johanna began writing songs as teenagers in 2007. They released two studio albums on Wichita Records, The Big Black And The Blue in 2010 and The Lion’s Roar in 2012. Their sound – warm and timeless – is built around folksy, acoustic arrangements, and features their beautiful harmonies that they brought to the XPoNential Music Festival stage in 2015.
