Widowspeak bring their dreamy, 90’s inspired, self-described “cowboy grunge” to Boot & Saddle tonight. Touring behind their recent LP Expect The Best, Widowspeak are known for their nostalgic, narrative-driven tunes which will thrive in the intimate Boot & Saddle setting. Chicago indie rockers Clearance and Philly bedroom grunge outfit Sun Hat also perform. Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews & Orleans Avenue take the jazz tradition to new levels in their funk- and hip-hop-inspired touring act. Touring in support of recent album Parking Lot Symphony, they’ll bring their unique combination of sounds to The Fillmore tonight for what’s sure to be a vibrant and energetic show — get a taste of the group’s upbeat sound in the audio below. Vintage Trouble also plays. Find tickets and more info on the XPN Concert Calendar.

The Wood Brothers — the soulful folk duo of siblings Chris and Oliver if you’re on a first-name basis — are in the middle of a lengthy national tour following the release of Live at the Barn earlier this year. Tonight’s stop at Wilmington’s Grand Opera House also features a special appearance by Cicada Rhythm. The Wood Brothers take influences from blues, folk and roots music and throw in their signature sibling harmonies for a timeless sound — listen below, and find tickets and more info on the XPN Concert Calendar.
