The day is finally here, folks. It’s time to cry our eyes out to Julien Baker at Union Transfer. The Tennessee songwriter released her second LP Turn Out The Lights a few days ago, and if you haven’t had it’s stunningly sad songs on repeat, you’re missing out. Baker has enlisted an incredibly talent-filled lineup of supporting acts for this tour; you’ll want to arrive early to catch Half Waif and Petal. Watch the video for “Appointments” below, and find tickets and more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.

If you’re not in the sad and quiet mood tonight, then turn up the volume and head to World Cafe Live for XPN’s Latin Roots Live! featuring a performance by the energetic Los Hacheros. The Brooklyn-based six-piece draws on a variety of influences for its classic Caribbean sound that invites listeners to dance along. Tickets are free, and more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch Los Hacheros’ Tiny Desk Concert below.

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen New Jersey’s Caroline Rose, but the singer-songwriter returns to town tonight for a set at Johnny Brenda’s opening for And The Kids. The pop- and country-influcened artist’s most recent release I Will Not Be Afraid is infused with songs of restlessness and time spent on the road. Hammydown also performs; find tickets and more information on the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch Rose’s video for “I Will Not Be Afraid” below.
