Singer-songwriter, guitarist, Black Keys co-founder, and versatile producer Dan Auerbach comes to Philly to play Union Transfer on March 24th. Billed in full as Dan Auerbach and the Easy Eye Sound Revue featuring Robert Finley, Shannon Shaw with special guest Shannon and the Clams, it’s a night of jams and collaboration, and it goes on sale this Friday, November 3rd. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Waiting On a Song has received a lot of critical acclaim since its release. It features Auerbach’s smokey voice with his almost Beach Boys-like sense of arrangement and instrumentation choices in the studio: Tenor saxophones, strings, big brass sections, gorgeous background vocals, and more all play important parts throughout the album. New-age surfer anthems like “Malibu Man” effectively contrast with more melancholic love songs like “Never In My Wildest Dreams” to create a telling journey through Auerbach’s musical roots, compositional techniques, and personal afflictions.

It’s always impressive for an artist coming from a band as prominent as The Black Keys to seamlessly shift to recording a completely original solo project, but Auerbach pulls it off with ease. Listen below.

This show is gonna be an absolute jam so be sure to get those tickets quickly when they go on sale November 3rd.
