Jake Shears, the lead singer of Scissor Sisters, recently debuted his first solo song, “Creep City.”

Billboard reported that in an e-mail to his fans, Shears said: “The world is upside down right now. In the thick of it, I feel that we still need tunes that make us smile, that make us wanna sing and dance like fools,” and he described the new song as a “pretty theatrical jam, with quite a few twists and turns.”

The past June, Scissor Sisters released a single, “SWERLK,” a collaboration with MNDR. It was the band’s first new song in five years, and portions of the proceeds from the song went to the Contigo Fund set up after the 2016 Pulse Nightclub tragedy in Orlando, Florida.

With a new song, and a show in New York on November 12th, could it be that more new music will be coming from Shears? We sure hope so. Below, listen to “Creep City.” It’s a slinky, fun, and colorful new song from the Scissor Sister’s charismatic front man.
