Soul singing legend Mavis Staples is still going strong at age 78 and has just released a new song called “Build A Bridge” from her soon to be released new album If All I Was Was Black, which she recorded with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy.
If All I Was Was Black comes out on November 17th and Mavis has a bunch of performances opening for Bob Dylan throughout November including two shows at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby this Saturday and Sunday, November 11th and 12th; more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. She’ll finish out the month with a couple of solo concerts, including a five-night stand at the Beacon Theater in New York City.
