The night before Thanksgiving can be a quiet time for concerts, but Philly didn’t disappoint this year. First up is Erica Corbo — she was an Items Tagged Philadelphia find earlier this year and her release I, America is a theatrical pop gem with a unique steampunk aesthetic. Corbo is the featured artist at open mic night at Connie’s Ric Rac, which should provide perfect solace from the holiday rush. Get there early for happy hour and open mic signups; find more information here.

Cabinet celebrates Thanksgiving with two shows on either end of the holiday, tonight and Friday at Ardmore Music Hall. The Pennsylvania bluegrass/folk group have been making their Americana-inspired tunes for over a decade, and released their fourth LP Cool River last month. Single-night tickets are available, as well as a bundle that includes admission to both shows. Find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.

Philadelphia songwriter Joey Sweeney brings his new band the Neon Grease to Boot & Saddle tonight, opening for fellow locals Stars Apart. The Justines also play. Sweeney and crew recently shared a few singles from their new project, including “Digital Light” — listen below. More information on the 21+ show can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
