Earlier this winter, singer-songwriter icon Paul Simon announced that he would hit the road for the final time in 2018. Today, he shared his itinerary for Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour, which kicks off in May on the West Coast and makes its way to Philadelphia on June 16th, where Simon will headline the Wells Fargo Center. Tickets to the show go on sale on Saturday, February 10th at 10 a.m., and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Simon has been a songwriter for most of his life, beginning with his teenage collaborations with childhood friend Art Garfunkel that led their duo, Simon and Garfunkel, to write and release some of the most memorable music of the 1960s

Though his 1972 self-titled album was technically his sophomore effort, Paul Simon announced Paul Simon as a solo artist, and he went on to release 13 LPs that were lyrically rooted in character-driven songwriting and musically eclectic, from the blue-eyed soul of 1975’s Still Crazy After All These Years to the Afrobeat-influenced Graceland in 1986 to the contemporary grooves of 2016’s Stranger to Stranger.

Of his farewell tour, Simon had this to say in a press statement:

I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end. Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief. I love making music, my voice is still strong, and my band is a tight, extraordinary group of gifted musicians. I think about music constantly. I am very grateful for a fulfilling career and, of course, most of all to the audiences who heard something in my music that touched their hearts.
