As I type this, people around me are fretting about snowfall predictions and travel routes home; kind of unusual for a spring equinox. At the same time, we’ve got the first weekend of the new season ahead of us, and a whopping six concerts to choose from this Friday to kick it off, so things are looking up. From a couple shows from country icon k.d. lang to expansive experimental sounds from Philly’s Palm, punk rock from Yankee Bluff and hip-hop from Tiani Victoria, here are 18 concerts you can’t miss this week.

Tuesday 3/20: k.d. lang at American Music Theatre

Canadian country and pop singer-songwriter k.d. lang is set to perform in Lancaster this Tuesday night on the Ingénue Redux 25th Anniversary Tour. The run of shows is celebrating the anniversary of her 1992 LP Ingénue, which saw lang’s success skyrocket, thanks in part to hit song “Constant Craving.” While Lancaster may be a hike for some, fear not, as k.d. will travel closer to Philly later in the week where she’ll play the Keswick Theater in Glenside on Friday March 23. Check out XPN’s Concert Calendar for tickets to that show, and follow the link below for info and tickets to the Lancaster date. // 7:30 p.m., $69, AA // TIX + INFOJack Madden

Tuesday 3/20: Miguel at The Fillmore

Versatile modern R&B artist Miguel brings his War & Pain tour to The Fillmore Tuesday night. Sharing the same name as his fourth studio LP, the tour starts in Boston the previous night and spans the U.S. through the end of April. On his fourth album, Miguel continued to explore a more experimental side, citing rock and psych influences while straying away from his previous R&B sounds. Opening the show are Nonchalant Savant and TDE’s newest label addition SiR. // 8:00 p.m., $77, AA // TIX + INFOJ.M.

Wednesday 3/21: Ty Dolla $ign at TLA

West Coast singer / rapper Ty Dolla $ign stops by South St’s TLA Wednesday night. Continuing on his Beach House series of releases, the LA-native released the star-studded Beach House 3 in 2017 featuring guest verses from YG, Future, Lil Wayne, and more. With the arsenal of hits Ty$ has accrued over the years, the live show is sure to sound like a recent best-of radio hits mix.
