Ever since Kississippiannounced there was new music in the works late last year, we’ve been brimming with anticipation. The project of Philly’s Zoe Reynolds, Kississippi shared the delightfully catchy single “Cut Yr Teeth” in December, along with news that a debut full-length would be on its way soon. Called Sunset Blush, the record be Kississippi’s first release since the 2015 EP We Have No Future, We’re All Doomed.

Now, we have even more Kississippi details. Sunset Blush will be released April 6, and to help bide the time, we have a shiny new single to jam to — “Easier to Love” is out now, and it’s one of Kississippi’s most well-crafted, full-sounding tunes yet. The new song shows off Reynolds’ capabilities as a pop songwriter who makes the kind of smooth, comforting songs that you just have to listen to on repeat. But it’s also emotionally raw, starting off hushed and vulnerable and growing more confident with each verse. “Up to now I’ve given all I’ve got / You could always keep it if you want / I’ll make myself easier to love,” Reynolds sings, revealing that she’s found an inner strength that can overcome just about anything.

Listen to “Easier to Love” below, and revisit Kississippi’s recent Free at Noon performance here.
