Just Announced: A reunited Espers will headline Union Transfer in August

Philly psych folk group Espers seemingly disappeared following the release of their last album, III, back in 2009. But this summer, Espers is making it’s return, with a just-announced Union Transfer show on Friday, August 24.

No word yet on whether this appearance will accompany any new music — perhaps an Espers IV is in our future? — but it does seem to at least be more than just a one-off show, as the band appears in the lineup of Upstate NY’s Huichica Festival, also this August. Vetiver, the long-running folk project of Andy Cabic, will open the Philly show.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 27; find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar. Revisit Espers’ performance at the 2008 Philadelphia Folk Festival below.
