Brooklyn-based indie rock band Big Thief announced their fall tour and are set to appear at Philly’s First Unitarian Church in October. The tour announcement comes on the heels of Big Thief’s recently-released experimental EP, Wide Winged Bird. The EP was made while on tour from summer 2015 to spring 2017, and contains ambient background sounds, field recordings, poems, and songs intertwined through out the 30-minute experience.

In 2017, Big Thief released one of The Key’s favorite albums of the year, its sophomore LP Capacity, the impressive follow-up to the band’s debut, Masterpiece.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Adrianne Lenker recently stunned Fishtown’s Johnny Brenda’s in March for two sold out sets. Revisit the night through The Key’s Koof Ibi Umoren’s recap, and check out Big Thief’w Tiny Desk Concert below to prep for the full band’s live set.

Tickets for Big Thief’s October 20 set at the Church go on sale this Friday, May 11 at noon through R5 Productions. Head over to the concert calendar for more information and tickets to the show.
