Jealous of the Birds is the work of Belfast singer, songwriter, and guitarist Naomi Hamilton.

This July, Hamilton is releasing her new EP, The Moths Of What I Want Will Eat Me In My Sleep, and ahead of its release has shared a sparking, evocative new song from it, “Plastic Skeletons.”

With a background studying English and Creative Writing at Queen’s University in Belfast, Hamilton recorded an EP and an album – 2016’s  Parma Violets – and began generating a buzz in the Northern Ireland music scene. A recent playlist she put together for Spotify shows the diverse range of her musical interests including Fleet Foxes, Patti Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Paul Simon, (Sandy) Alex G, Minnie Riperton, Joni Mitchell, and others, however her own music showcases indie folk indie rock influences and lyrics steeped in imagery.

Below, listen to “Plastic Skeletons,” from JOTB’s forthcoming EP. It rides a guitar driven groove akin to “Sheela Na Gig” by PJ Harvey, and sets Hamilton’s inventive lyrics into a song that immediately demands your attention.
