Electropop and electrifying punk; free concerts in public spaces; a celebration of contemporary Latin music; one of the greatest vocalists of the past two decades. Here are 20 concerts you can see in and around Philadelphia this month.

Monday 7/16: Handsome Cru at PhilaMOCA

Philadelphia via New Brunswick based alt rockers Handsome Cru have played a string of summer dates in our city and will be back this coming Monday to share more of their new release, Home of the Hits. This band is edgy and loud and definitely fall under the emo category as they have self-described their sound. The quintessential “emo” sounding vocals (if you know what I mean, then you know. Think Blink-182) are evident throughout every song in a way that isn’t overdone and flows well with the punchy soundscape and staccato drum beats. Home of the Hits is a collection of youth-embodied hits that will make you want to dance, no matter what. // 8:30 p.m., $10, AA // TIX + INFO – E.H.
