Philly DIY vets Restorations are slowly teasing new material ahead of their fourth long-player, LP5000. Their latest, “Nonbeliever,” follows up lead single “Red Door,” the high-speed contemplation on the rapid changing cityscape. On “Nonbeliever,” Restorations slows the pace yet continues on the themes of displacement and change.

The album, per the band’s label Tiny Engines, is “about knowing now that if you don’t constantly work 24/7 to keep things together, they can easily fall apart.” While not explicitly attributing that quote to “Nonbeliever,” with lyrics like “I got a partner for starters, and a kid on the way, I can’t be doing all this dumb shit no more,” it can be hard not to link the two.

The seven-track LP5000 drops next month, September 28th to be exact, on Tiny Engines. You can preorder digital and physical variants of the album now through the label’s webpage here. Listen to “Nonbeliever” below, and find tickets for Restorations’ October 21st record release show at The Church on XPN’s Concert Calendar.
