Still on the road in support of his 2017 album Rocket, Philly’s (Sandy) Alex G has announced a winter tour, which will include a stop at First Unitarian Church on November 16th, joined by Half Waif. The tour will also feature the newly-reformed Duster and Harmony Tividad of Girlpool.

Alex G has already been through Philly a lot recently, the local favorite touring alongside Japanese Breakfast, Dr. Dog, and making an appearance at Made In America in 2017. Rocket was a significant album for him: his eighth full-length, his third with Domino Records, his first produced by Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal Orchestra). On top of this highly-successful release, he was also invited to collaborate with Frank Ocean, playing guitar on a couple tracks off Endless and Blonde. All this and Alex G is only 25 years old.

Half Waif is the solo project of Nandi Rose Plunkett, known for her work with Pinegrove. She diverges from the sound of the folk rock group instead by channeling her singer-songwriter influences into an electronic art pop project, stripping songs down to enhance her vocals. Lavender, released earlier this year, is largely inspired by the passing of her grandmother, and contains themes of entropy and collapse.

This show will likely sell out quickly, so make sure to get your tickets fast. They go on sale Wednesday, August 15th, at 12 pm EDT, and are available here.
