Just Announced: Dawes will headline The Fillmore in February

After opening the Jeff Lynne’s ELO show at the Wells Fargo Center a few weeks back, Dawes has announced their return to Philly for a headlining show of their own. The second leg of the band’s tour behind their recent album Passwords will bring them to The Fillmore on February 1 for a special two-set performance.

Along with the tour announcement comes the release of a four-track EP featuring different versions of Passwords cut “Feed The Fire,” including a live take and a “barebones” acoustic rendition. There’s also a new Brady Bunch-esque music video for the song that mirrors it’s sentiment about the high visibility of life in the online era. Director Matthew Daniel Siskin shared the following statement on his inspiration behind the video:

“Everyone is telling bands, writers, and artists to share, share, share. If you don’t share, nobody will care. If you don’t use social media, you don’t exist. That feeling/image struck me hard when I first heard Taylor’s lyrics. We’re all working for constant attention, without giving it a single thought as to ‘why’ we’re doing it. Thankfully, the band trusted me enough to sit awkwardly in front of a camera over and over again. Forced to smile. But, as artists in 2018 — I’m pretty sure they’re already used to that.”

Tickets for Dawes’ Fillmore show go on sale this Friday, October 5, and each purchase comes with a CD or digital copy of Passwords. Find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
